Carl Grimes sold a business in 1983, and that experience began his career selling business. However, before founding Confidential Business Intermediaries/The CBI TEAM in 1994, he published an award-winning newspaper, built and operated a state-of-the-art cable television system, owned a real estate firm, a retail catalog sales business and an abstract and title company. All these businesses were successfully sold and led Carl to the profession of full time business brokerage. He received the designation of Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and Fellow of the IBBA from the International Business Brokers Association.
“Being a professional Business Intermediary requires extensive training and commitment to meeting the reasonable expectations of our clients, the owner of privately held businesses. It’s not a part time job, it’s a full time career,” Grimes said.

Born and raised in Clarendon, Arkansas, Carl is proud to be a native “Arkansawyer”. In 1971, Carl married his high school sweetheart, Kathy. In 1984, he started his first business in Northwest Arkansas. Carl and Kathy have two grown sons, Casey and Connor, and daughters-in-law Loryn and Heather, and two grandsons, Greyson and Cache. Both sons have achieved a high level of success in the family business of CBI. Connor is the Owner of the CBI Central Arkansas office.
A graduate of the inaugural class of Leadership Fayetteville, a program conducted by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Carl has served as a city councilman, school board member, and a Chamber of Commerce president. A member of New Heights Church in Fayetteville, Carl has also served as an elder, a deacon, and a Sunday School teacher.

In addition to his specialized expertise in the hospitality industry, Dave holds an Arkansas Real Estate Sales License, is a member of the International Business Brokers Association/M&A Source and is a current candidate for IBBA’s Certified Business Intermediary designation. Dave and his family make their home in Northwest Arkansas. He remains energized by the growth in his home state and is excited to partner with business owners to develop solutions to the challenges they face as they start, operate, grow and sell their businesses.
As Business Manager, Kelly Tivis helps maintain the processes and procedures used by all CBI TEAM offices. He manages the Loans4Biz program, which provides buyers with a variety of competitive financing options for their business acquisitions. He also introduces franchise opportunities to clients who are interested in franchising.

Kelly and his wife have five children and six grandchildren. He enjoys camping, hiking and traveling.
System Administrator and Closing Coordinator
Leland Eidson is CBI TEAM System Administrator and Closing Coordinator for the Northwest Arkansas Office. Working in the Northwest Arkansas Office since early 2014, he began his time with the company as a telemarketer. Displaying a passion for technology, and a keen eye for detail, Leland quickly began taking on new responsibilities in the office, as something of a “jack-of-all-trades”. In 2016 Leland was promoted to full-time system administrator and took over Closing Coordination duties for the NWA office in early 2018.

Leland was born and raised in Springdale Arkansas, where he still resides. He is active in his community and has a passion for helping people. When not working, or volunteering, Leland enjoys camping, hiking, and competing in collectible card game tournaments.
